Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DHRIT: Focus, Study & Grow (“DHRIT”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a study and focus ecosystem for competitive-exam students, developed by 59 Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the DHRIT Android application.

By using DHRIT, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Your name (entered during onboarding)
  • Target exam preference (JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET UG, etc.)
  • Daily study goal
  • Study subject and topic when starting a session
  • Room names and descriptions you create
  • Planner goals and tasks
  • Quick notes

3.2 Study and focus session data

  • Focus session start and end times
  • Session duration
  • Subject and topic studied
  • Apps selected for blocking during focus sessions
  • Daily, weekly, and total study time
  • Study streaks and consistency data
  • Room associated with a session

3.3 Device and app information

  • List of installed applications on your device (used solely to let you select which apps to block during focus sessions)
  • App usage information required for focus session enforcement
  • Device model and Android version
  • App version

3.4 User identifier

DHRIT assigns each user a unique anonymous identifier (Firebase Anonymous Auth UID) automatically on first launch. No account registration or login is required.

3.5 Room and community data

  • Rooms you create or join
  • Room membership and role (admin or member)
  • Study presence shown on Study Wall (name, live status, study time) when visibility is enabled

3.6 Technical data

  • Crash logs and diagnostic information (via Firebase Crashlytics)
  • App performance data (via Firebase Analytics)

3.7 Advertising data

DHRIT displays advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:

  • Android Advertising ID
  • Device information
  • Ad interaction data (impressions and clicks)

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver focus sessions and app blocking functionality
  • Calculate and display your study statistics, attendance, streaks, and analytics
  • Power Study Wall, Rooms, and Leaderboard features
  • Show your study presence to other members of rooms you have joined
  • Display advertisements to support the free app
  • Detect and fix crashes and bugs
  • Improve app performance and features

5. App blocking and accessibility service

DHRIT uses Android’s Accessibility Service to detect when you open a blocked app during a focus session and redirect you back to your study session. This service:

  • Only activates during an active focus session
  • Only monitors whether a blocked app is in the foreground
  • Does not read any content from other apps
  • Does not collect any data from other apps
  • Stops immediately when your focus session ends

DHRIT also reads your list of installed apps solely to let you choose which apps to block. This list is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

6. Study Wall and live presence

When you start a focus session, your name, live status, elapsed study time, subject, and room may be visible to other members of rooms you have joined on the Study Wall.

You can disable Study Wall visibility at any time from Settings. When disabled, you will not appear on anyone’s Study Wall.

7. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information with:

  • Firebase (Google) — backend infrastructure, authentication, database, crash reporting, and analytics
  • Google AdMob — to display advertisements
  • Legal authorities — where required by law

8. Data storage and security

Your study data is stored locally on your device and synced to Firebase cloud infrastructure. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as the app is installed on your device and your anonymous user account exists.

When you delete your account from Settings → Delete Account, we will delete your personal data from our systems within 7 days.

You may also request deletion by emailing mehul@59labs.in with subject “Delete My DHRIT Account” and including your User ID from Settings → My User ID.

10. Advertising

DHRIT uses Google AdMob to show advertisements. Ads appear on the Dashboard, Tools, Rooms discovery, and Settings screens. Ads are never shown during active focus sessions, timers, or study material viewing.

AdMob may use your Android Advertising ID to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your Android device settings under Google → Ads.

11. Children’s privacy

DHRIT is designed for students preparing for competitive examinations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Disable Study Wall visibility from Settings
  • Opt out of personalized advertising from device settings

13. Third-party services

DHRIT uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Auth — Anonymous user identification
  • Firebase Firestore — Cloud database
  • Firebase Realtime Database — Live study presence
  • Firebase Crashlytics — Crash reporting
  • Firebase Analytics — Usage analytics
  • Google AdMob — Advertisements

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. The latest version is always available at dhrit.59labs.in/legal/privacy-policy.

15. Governing law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules thereunder.
